At Work

After more than ten years of working  in the retail nursery & garden center industry out on Long Island's 'East End', in the heart of the Hamptons , I made an about face, and now drive 42 miles west each day, from my home in Westhampton Beach, to get my 'plant fix', and to hopefully pay some of the bills. I now help manage a large wholesale only, greenhouse-warehouse at Angel Plants in Dix Hills. We specialize in the sale of interior foliage, flowering and holiday plant material, cactus & succulents, ferns, palms, orchids, and outdoor tropical, annual, and perennial plants.

                  

I work with a small staff within the larger company, servicing the walk-in customer base of independent garden centers, florists, landscapers,  interiorscapers and interior plant maintenance companies, plus a wide range of groups and organizations. From botanical gardens to church & boyscout plant sales, my customer base is varied and spans the tri-state area and beyond. Almost anyone needing plants on a seasonal or year-round basis will visit Angel Plants at some point.It's still sales, but in a more relaxed setting than high-end retail sales. The wholesale customer tends to, but not always, have basic-to-advanced plant knowledge, so product need is in place. A sale may consist of showing a customer new arrivals, filling a special order need, or getting someone as excited about your favorite plants as you are.
