May into June

A Long Island spring is never predictable and no two are ever alike. I live and garden out on the island's east end, where sea and land and air meet and mix, testing us with variations in weather, temperature, and precipitation. This year's early spring was almost perfect, with mild sunny days such a treat after a winter of relentless snow and cold. Rain and sun were delivered in just the right amounts, with no surprise late frosts. And the plants responded.....
